John J. Bessey married to Anna Celeste (Richardson) Bessey
Date of funeral Nov. 16, 1958. Madison, NE. (I remember my great grandmother "Grandma" when she died when I was 8 years old). She always sat in a big wooden rocking chair in my childhood home and I loved sitting on her lap and rocking from my earliest memories when I moved into my childhood family home when I was about the age of 3 years old.

My aunt Eleanor (Bunik) Lucas had the genealogical lineage documents that enabled her to have her card as a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR) due to this lineage from John J. Bessey's wife Anna Richardson. It is my intention to contact her twin granddaughters in Fort Madison, Iowa to get that information as to lineage because my 3 daughters (and your offspring) would also be blood relation to John and Samuel Adams. Both historical figures in the American Revolution.
There is also a Sons of the American Revolution if Jeb is interested and Eleanor's work could be used for such membership also.

With the Elkhorn River and its contributories and the fact that the soil has a high moisture capacity, dry summers didn't cause great hardship on residents in the beginning of Euro settlement.

Before Euro settlers began to move into the county, this area was resort to the Pawnee who followed ancient cultures who settled there. The Spanish probably visited the area for coins have been found here as well as herds of wild horses.
